NBA Rappers: NBA Players, Hip Hop Stars to Make a Joint Rap Album
Kevin Jairaj-US PRESSWIRE

It is pretty well-known that basketball and music are synonymous. Early in the 2000s, we had Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant as the stand out rappers in the league. Now players such as Kevin Durant and Iman Shumpert are some of the better known rappers in the NBA.

Coming together as a charity project, up to 14 NBA players are coming together to release Full Court Press Volume 1.

News broke on the Full Court Press album a few weeks ago when video showed Juwan Howard in the studio.

The list of players that will be participating on Full Court Press Vol. 1 with champion Howard include Josh Smith, “Big Baby” Glen Davis, Shawn Marion, Stephen Jackson, Lamar Odom, Baron Davis, Carlos Boozer, Trevor Ariza and a few others.

Appearing alongside the NBA players will be hip-hop stars Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, Trina, Soulja Boy, Birdman, The Game, T-Pain, Bun B and Twista.

It will be interesting to see which players and rappers hook up together on songs. It has already been confirmed through video that Howard will feature South Beach rappers Trina and Rick Ross on a song titled “It’s Time To Ball”. Another rumored collaboration will be Big Baby rapping with Soulja Boy, which will be the definition of entertainment.

Since the group is promoting a good cause in inspiring young teens through music, the album will not include any profane language or subjects.

I’m not big on ball players stepping into the studio, but if it’s for a good cause, then I’ll be sure to take a listen when the album is released.

Below behind-the-scenes footage of the making of the album.
