Fantasy Football 2014: 5 Miami Dolphins You Should Draft
Off the field issues took center stage for the Miami Dolphins last season, and the mediocrity of an 8-8 record ensued.
As they look to become a playoff contender in the AFC, here are five Dolphins fantasy football owners need to pay attention to on draft day this year.
5. WR Brian Hartline
5. WR Brian Hartline
Hartline has topped 70 catches and 1,000 yards in each of the last two seasons. While he is unlikely to become a notable touchdown scorer, Hartline can be an asset in PPR leagues again this year.
4. TE Charles Clay
4. TE Charles Clay
Clay set career-highs across the board last year with 69 receptions for 759 yards and six touchdowns. He is line for a prominent role again this year, and could be an undervalued low-end TE1 on draft day.
3. RB Lamar Miller
3. RB Lamar Miller
Miller's fantasy value for this year looked dismal after the signing of Knowshon Moreno, but he got most of the first-team reps during OTAs and Moreno now reportedly needs knee surgery. Miller's average draft position looks certain to rise, but he is worth a look in the mid-to-late rounds of drafts as a RB2 or RB3.
2. WR Mike Wallace
2. WR Mike Wallace
Wallace had a bad first season with the Dolphins in 2013 (73 catches for 930 yards and five touchdowns), but new offensive coordinator Bill Lazor seems to have plans to use him in a variety of ways this season. Two consecutive disappointing seasons may knock Wallace down in the eyes of a lot of fantasy owners, but the potential for a nice rebound is here and he could be a real value pick in drafts and auctions.
1. QB Ryan Tannehill
1. QB Ryan Tannehill
Tannehill started all 16 games last season despite being sacked a league-high 58 times, and his numbers (3,913 passing yards, 24 touchdowns and 238 rushing yards) were solid under the circumstances. With a new offensive coordinator and an improved offensive line, Tannehill is a high-upside QB2 this year.
