Grizzlies are More Than Pacers can Bear
Coming into their game at FedEx Forum Friday night, the Pacers had not yet lost two games in a row this season. That statistic came to an end in Memphis. The Grizzlies outlasted the Pacers, in a game with 18 lead changes and 17 ties, to an eventual 98-92 victory.
Memphis had five players score in double figures, led by Rudy Gay, who scored 21. David West had 22 points for the Pacers, and Danny Granger scored 19, but very little else was done to help their scoring. The two Pacer players participating in All-Star weekend came up short on the night. Roy Hibbert, who was named to the Eastern Conference All-Star reserve team, could only muster up five points and seven assists. Paul George, who will be part of the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge, grabbed ten rebounds, but scored only eight points in the loss.
Indiana returns home Saturday night to play the Denver Nuggets. Memphis plays Utah on Sunday, in the second of a three-game home stand.
