5 Minnesota Twins That Should Be Moved Before the 2015 Trade Deadline

The Minnesota Twins have started fairly well this season, with a 21-17 record entering Monday. If they can linger around .500, they may be buyers as the trade deadline nears.

But I'm going the other way a bit, and here are five Twins that should be moved before the trade deadline in July.

Josmil Pinto has work to do as a defensive catcher, but Herrmann should not be keeping him off the major league roster right now. If Herrmann can be moved, even for a low or mid-tier minor leaguer, it should be done.

4. Tim Stauffer-John Rieger USAT

Moving Stauffer will be a challenge, since he's working his way back from an injury right now and got shellacked (8.38 ERA and 16 hits allowed over eight appearances) before being injured. But the Twins should have no place for him going forward, and anything they can get in a trade would be a win.

Nunez was activated from the disabled list over the weekend, after missing time with an oblique issue. With what he did offensively before being injured in mind (nine hits over 22 at-bats), and taking into account what looks like his ceiling as a utility player and not much else, this may be the peak of Nunez's trade value

2. RP Brian Duensing

A reliever's inflated ERA early in a season is easy to overreact to, but Duensing has a 10.57 ERA over 14 appearances (7.2 innings) and he has allowed three runs in two of his last three appearances. But he been good against left-handed hitters in his career (.237 batting average against), and Duensing should still have some value as a left-handed specialist.

I will continue to beat the "trade Mike Pelfrey" drum until he is dealt. But he has gone less than five innings in two of his last three starts, so the peak of his trade value is probably gone.
