The sports world has lost a great man. Former UNLV coach Jerry Tarkanian has passed away. He was 84.
Coach Tark, my father, the greatest man I have ever known, passed today, to take his place in heaven. I will miss him every day of my life.

The Hall of Fame coach had many great basketball teams. In fact, he led four teams to the Final Four in his time. Overall, he had a record of 729-201 at the Division I level. His biggest basketball feat came in 1990, though, when the Rebels won a national championship.
To this day, the UNLV Rebels are one of the more well-known mid-majors in college basketball, and Tarkanian had plenty to do with that.
Needless to say, Tarkanian definitely had a major impact at the college level, and he will be dearly missed.
