The SEC has surprised many people by being one of the most competitive conferences in college basketball, with seven teams currently predicted to make the 2015 NCAA Tournament. Two of these teams face off on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 9 p.m. ET on the SEC Network, as the Georgia Bulldogs travel to C.M. Tad Smith Coliseum to face the Ole Miss Rebels.

Georgia has quietly been one of the toughest teams to beat in the SEC just one year after their surprise third place conference finish. If you throw out the two losses to the South Carolina Gamecocks, the Bulldogs have been in every game this season, despite their up and down finishing. After two back-to-back losses to two of the worst teams in the conference, UGA will be looking to get a quality win over an opponent that sits just two places better than them in both the RPI and BPI.

Ole Miss has lost just one game this season by double digits and they’ve only lost one game in February to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Strangely enough, the Rebels may be a better team on the road than at home, with their worst losses coming on their home court. This could be a factor in the postseason, where this team will likely be considered an underdog in most of their games.

These two teams are evenly matched, save for one aspect. The Rebels boast the most clutch player in the country in Stefan Moody, who just saved Ole Miss against a pesky Tennessee squad in their previous game. Once again, I believe a Georgia game comes down to the last two possessions, like 11 games have already this season. Moody carries Ole Miss over Georgia in a tight, highly contested matchup.

Prediction: Ole Miss 66, Georgia 64
