It’s great to see a Bob Huggins-coached team back in the NCAA tournament. Huggins and the West Virginia Mountaineers had a nightmare of a season last year. That is putting it very, very lightly. Like most teams in the Big 12 this year, the Mountaineers had some ups and downs during conference play, but they earned their spot in the dance regardless.

What You Need to Know:

Leading Scorer: Juwan Staten (14.5 PPG)

Leading Rebounder: Devin Williams (8.2 RPG)

Leading Passer: Juwan Staten (4.6 APG)

Bad Losses: None

Good Wins: Oklahoma, Kansas, Oklahoma State (twice), NC State

Oh yeah, I know you see that win over the Jayhawks. Needless to say, that was a big win for this West Virginia team. It not only got the team back in the Big 12 title race, it also got the team its best win of the season. Beating Kansas tends to do that. With that said, the Mountaineers finished two games back in the regular season conference standings.

By now, everyone should have a good idea of who Juwan Staten is. Just for the record, he is a top player in college hoops, and he will prove that in the dance. Staten has missed some time, so him being healthy and actually on the court will be key.

The West Virginia Mountaineers are dancing!
