2016 NFL Mock Draft: First Round, Week 14

Jared Goff — The 2016 NFL draft class will start to take shape over the next month, with the deadline for underclassmen to declare coming in mid-January and bowl games the last in-season opportunity for prospects to make an impression on NFL scouts.

Here is your first-round mock draft for Week 14. Remember, the New England Patriots don't have a first-round pick next year.

Here is your first-round mock draft for Week 14. Remember, the New England Patriots don't have a first-round pick next year.

1. Cleveland Browns: Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis

Johnny Manziel now has a four-week audition to make his case to be Cleveland's quarterback of the future, but it's hard to see it happening. Lynch is in line to be the first quarterback taken, and the Browns should at least add competition at the game's most important position.

2. Tennessee Titans: Laremy Tunsil, OT, Mississippi

The Titans can use some help along the offensive line. Tunsil can step right in at left tackle, and be Marcus Mariota's blindside protector for years to come.

3. San Diego Chargers: Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame

This pick is more need-driven than particularly exciting, but Stanley is a solid choice that provides an instant boost to San Diego's offensive line.

4. Baltimore Ravens: Vernon Hargreaves III, CB, Florida

The Ravens need secondary help fairly desperately. Hargreaves is a likely instant contributor, and a building block as a shutdown corner for a talent-needy defense.

5. Jacksonville Jaguars: Jalen Ramsey, CB, Florida State

Jacksonville needs help in multiple areas of their defense. But Ramsey can play both corner and safety in a secondary that particularly needs a talent influx, so he's the pick here.

6. Dallas Cowboys: Joey Bosa, Ohio State

The Cowboys can go multiple directions with this pick, but I've got them taking arguably the best player in this year's class.

7. St. Louis Rams: Jared Goff, QB, California

The Rams need to add talent across the board offensively, so there are multiple options here. But the opportunity to secure a quarterback of the future is hard to turn down, so Goff has to be the pick.

8. New Orleans Saints: Jaylon Smith, OLB, Notre Dame

The Saints need to prioritize defense in next year's draft, and during the offseason as a whole. Smith is arguably the best player available here, and he just so happens to fit a big need for New Orleans.

9. San Francisco 49ers: Laquon Treadwell, WR, Mississippi

There is not a quarterback available that wouldn't be a significant reach here, so the 49ers move to another top need and secure the best wide receiver in the 2016 draft class.

10. Detroit Lions: Robert Nkemdiche, DL, Mississippi

The Lions need to add talent in multiple areas. Nkemdiche falls this far based on the needs of the first nine teams, not his own talent, so Detroit will gladly take him.

11. New York Giants: Emmanuel Ogbah, DE, Oklahoma State

The Giants have the worst defense in the league this side of the Saints. Ogbah fits their need for pass rush help, so he's the clear pick here as a potential immediate difference maker.

The Dolphins need to add talent at cornerback. If Alexander declares for the draft as expected, he can be an immediate starter.

13. Oakland Raiders: Jack Conklin, OT, Michigan

The Raiders need a long-term answer at left tackle. Conklin fit that bill, and he would fit right in as part of the "bully" that head coach Jack Del Rio wants to build.

14. Philadelphia Eagles: Leonard Floyd, OLB, Georgia

The Eagles fall a bit this week after a surprising Week 13 win. But that puts them in position to add an edge rusher with Floyd's talent and upside, so it's a win-win situation.

15. Chicago Bears: Myles Jack, LB, UCLA

The Bears' defense is much-improved this year, but adding talent should still be an offseason priority. Jack is a nice fit.

16. Atlanta Falcons: DeForest Buckner, DE, Oregon

The Falcons have a much-improved defense this year, but more talent is needed. Buckner has upside that can't be ignored.

17. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Taylor Decker, OT, Ohio State

Tampa Bay needs to upgrade their offensive line this offseason. Decker is a great fit, and he can step right in at left tackle.

18. Houston Texans: Connor Cook, QB, Michigan State

The Texans need to secure a quarterback of the future soon. The first round of the draft is the time, and Cook is the best available here.

19. Buffalo Bills: Reggie Ragland, LB, Alabama

Ragland may not test off the charts at the combine, but he's an all-around football player that fits a need for the Bills.

20. Pittsburgh Steelers: Tre'Davious White, CB, LSU

The Steelers need serious help in the secondary. White was their pick last week, and he still fits now.

21. New York Jets: Vadal Alexander, OG/OT, LSU

With no edge rusher that is a scheme fit available here, the Jets turn to offensive line. Alexander might fit best as a guard at the next level, but he's still a first-round pick.

22. Seattle Seahawks: Corey Coleman, WR, Baylor

Russell Wilson throws a terrific deep ball, and the Seahawks may be forced to open up their offense more next year. Coleman is a nice fit, and he could immediately become Seattle's best wide receiver.

23. Kansas City Chiefs: Shaq Lawson, DE, Clemson

Lawson is establishing himself as a sure-fire first-round pick. The Chiefs could use help along their front seven, and Lawson seems to be scheme-versatile.

24. Minnesota Vikings: Su'a Cravens, S/LB, USC

The Vikings' lack of safety depth has been exposed in recent weeks, with injuries mounting quickly. Cravens could also play linebacker at the next level, but his versatility can make him an instant difference maker in Mike Zimmer's defense.

25. Washington Redskins: Jarran Reed, DT, Alabama

The Redskins can use a youth infusion along their defensive line, and there are plenty of options here. Reed looks like a great interior anchor, and a possible immediate starter.

26. Indianapolis Colts: Shilique Calhoun, DE, Michigan State

The Colts need to bolster their pass rush. Calhoun may not be a perfect fit scheme-wise, but he is a bit of a defensive end/outside linebacker tweener that could make the transition to Indianapolis' 3-4.

Green Bay may need to make additions to their defensive line, with potential free agent losses this offseason. Robinson has the versatility to be a great fit.

28. Arizona Cardinals: Jordan Jenkins, OLB, Georgia

The Cardinals need an edge rusher/run defender who can win individual battles. Jenkins is strong in that area, and even as a fringe first-round pick right now I've got Arizona reaching just a bit.

Cincinnati should seek a talent upgrade at wide receiver, particularly with the prospect of losing some depth in free agency. Doctson could step right in as the starter opposite A.J. Green.

Spriggs was the Broncos' pick in last week's mock draft, due in part to what looks like a great scheme fit. This week I have them sticking with him to address a need.

31. Carolina Panthers: Germain Ifedi, OT, Texas A&M

The Panthers need to add help along the offensive line, particularly at tackle in terms of long-term answers. Ifedi can play both tackle spots, so he's a solid choice.
