5 NFL Teams That Are Sure to Lose in Week 16

The NFL's Week 16 schedule kickoffs on Christmas Eve, with the San Diego Chargers (4-10) going north to take on the Oakland Raiders (6-8). Looking at the entire slate of games, here are five NFL teams that will definitely lose in Week 16.

5. New York Giants

Sunday night's road game against the Minnesota Vikings is a must-win for the Giants, and as long as wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.'s suspension is upheld they'll be without their best player. The game may also wind up being meaningless for New York, outside of any attachment to Tom Coughlin's job security, so they may simply check-out.

4. Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys are taking on another team that is playing out the string in Week 16, with a trip to take on the 6-8 Buffalo Bills. But they are also down to Kellen Moore at quarterback, and he'll be making his first NFL start, so I expect the Cowboys to further improve their draft pick with a loss on Sunday.

3. St. Louis Rams

The Rams tend to rise to the level of their competition, but the Seattle Seahawks are playing very well and quarterback Russell Wilson has been one of the best in the league in recent weeks. Add in home field advantage for Seattle, and St. Louis will go home with a one-sided loss.

2. Green Bay Packers

The Packers have won three games in a row, but a mixture of good fortune and playing at best mediocre teams has worked in their favor. A Week 16 road trip to take on the 12-2 Arizona Cardinals looks like a dose of looming reality, and it's hard to see Green Bay having enough to keep pace.

1. Baltimore Ravens

A rivalry game against the Pittsburgh Steelers is often a physical battle and a close contest, but the injury-depleted Ravens stand little chance on Sunday. Case in point: Ryan Mallett, who was signed just last week, is a candidate to start the game for Baltimore.
