Brock Osweiler Makes Houston Texans Strong Contenders In The AFC

By Dan Parzych

Despite having one of the league’s top defenses in 2015, one of the main reasons why the Houston Texans failed to make a deep run in the postseason was due to their lack of offense — especially at the quarterback position with four different starters. However, it looks like the Texans will be one of the top teams in the AFC once again next season now that they have found a decent quarterback in Brock Osweiler.

With Peyton Manning out of the picture, early signs pointed to Osweiler being the go-to man at quarterback for the Denver Broncos after the potential he displayed in the eight games he appeared in during the 2015 season. Instead, Osweiler will receive a fresh start with a Houston team that already has one of the league’s top wideouts in DeAndre Hopkins and should have one of the top defenses once again in 2016.

Along with the signing of Osweiler, the Texans also managed to land one of the top free agent running backs in Lamar Miller, so this is turning out to be quite the offseason already for the defending AFC South Champions. All of a sudden, the key additions of Osweiler and Miller may make the Texans the team to beat in the AFC when considering the fact that Denver is now left searching for answers at the quarterback position.
