5 Teams That Could Trade For Denver Broncos OT Ryan Clady

By Brad Berreman

After signing Russell Okung and Donald Stephenson to fortify their offensive tackle situation in free agency, the Denver Broncos are looking to trade Ryan Clady. Clady has missed significant time in two of the last three seasons with injuries, and his contract ($19.5 million in base salary over the next two seasons) makes a restructuring/pay cut necessary to make a trade happen. But Jason Cole of Bleacher Report has already reported some interest in Clady from other teams.

With that in mind, here are five teams that could make a deal for the offensive tackle.

The Patriots have been wheeling and dealing this week. While they may not have a great need at offensive tackle, some interest in Clady would not be out of the question.

The Steelers were one of the teams to make Okung a contract offer before he signed with the Broncos. Though they have signed another former Bronco offensive tackle in free agency (Ryan Harris), Pittsburgh could turn their attention to a trade for Clady in an effort to add more depth.

The Lions had interest in Okung, and they still have a need at left tackle. Turning to the draft may now be the best option, but Detroit could swing a trade for Clady if he can prove his health.

The Giants also reportedly made an offer to Okung before obviously losing out. General manager Jerry Reese has to make moves with improving next season's results in mind, so a trade for a presumably healthy Clady should be on the radar.

Losing Okung leaves the Seahawks with a notable hole at left tackle. It goes without saying he'll need to restructure his contract, but Clady may be more willing to do it if a trade sending him to Seattle is realistic.
