Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson spent his final season of college eligibility at Wisconsin, and he was the commencement speaker at the school’s graduation over the weekend. The highlight of his speech was a message about resiliency upon being told by North Carolina State football coach Tom O’Brien that he should “give it up” in regard to trying to play in the NFL.
Wilson spent three years at North Carolina State, playing football and baseball, before heading to Wisconsin as a graduate transfer. Upon hearing about the entirety of the underdog story Wilson offered, which has been found by some outlets to not be entirely factual to a wide degree, former N.C. State offensive lineman Kelani Heppe offered this via his Facebook page on Sunday night.

Lies about his career at N.C. State confirm what I’ve already started to think about Wilson, which has nothing to do with his football talent. From being a pitchman for “concussion-curing” water, to acknowledging on a late-night show a mutual decision between he and now-fiance Ciara to be celibate, to having to search on the internet for things to say to her, Wilson’s public persona is pure and simply a fraud.
