The appeal process didn’t exactly go as planned for Ezekiel Elliott, with the Dallas Cowboys running back admitting to drug use under oath and not getting a single game lifted from his six-game suspension.
However, the one unexpected development is that Elliott will be eligible to play for Dallas in Week 1 against the New York Giants.
Despite a lack of evidence and recommendations from other investigators to the contrary, the NFL still suspended Elliott for six games under its personal conduct umbrella.
Zeke will be playing in Week 1, but that will likely be the last time Cowboys fans see him on the field until the midway point in 2017.
