Well this is quite a game of shadow and suspense. The signs for Andrew Wiggins’ recruitment seem to all be point to the North Carolina Tar Heels. Wiggins will apparently make his decision by the Nike Hoop Summit, which will hopefully be after James Michael McAdoo and Reggie Bullock announce their pro intentions. Five star center commit Kennedy Meeks has been working hard on Wiggins at the McDonald’s All American game and the Jordan Brand Classic; he had some words lately that should turn some heads.
“I think we’ll get him,” Meeks to USA Today. “Me and Andrew are pretty tight and I have been working on him all week. I think I’ve got this thing done.”
This is just pure music to my ears and hopefully Meeks is not exaggerating their relationship.
Meeks also told Inside Carolina a few weeks ago: “I’ve been talking to Andrew [Wiggins] most of the time. Just telling and getting him to realize that Carolina is a perfect fit for him. Letting him know he’ll be helpful to us, even if he only stays for one year. I’m just helping out I guess.”
Wiggins would be a flat out star at Chapeul Hill and his rivalry with Jabari Parker would certainly go up a notch as well; that’s why I’m hoping Wiggins puts on the powder blue.
