(No Rants)(via The Smoking Gun) Fifty-eight days into the season, and we’re finally going to get our first Tony La Russa drunk joke. What is Major League Baseball’s schedule maker thinking? The Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals have combined to play 96 regular season games — yet none of which have come against one another. Fear not, Midwest baseball fans. The game’s best rivalry that doesn’t need to be hyped endlessly by the slack-jawed yokels that run ESPN takes center stage at 1:20 p.m. this afternoon at beautiful Wrigley Field.
