Russell Sent to Collections

Former Oakland Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell might soon be getting a few calls from bill collectors. On Thursday the Oakland Raiders confirmed that they are filing a grievance against Russell in order to collect 9.55 million dollars the club claims that Russell owes them. The Raiders claim that Russell was paid accelerated salary for future years of his contract for the years 2010-2012. Russell was 7-18 as a starter for the Raiders and was released shortly after the draft when Oakland acquired former Washington Redskin QB Jason Campbell. As long as the Raiders are in the litigation mood, perhaps they should file suit against Russell for fraud charges, after all Russell was supposed to be a quarterback.
