Braves Place Saito On DL, Recall Kimbrel
(No Rants)The Braves placed reliever Takashi Saito on the 15-day disabled list on Friday after Saito pulled his left hamstring in Thursday night’s game against the Dodgers. The Braves recalled future closer Craig Kimbrel from the Triple-A Gwinnett Braves to replace the injured Saito on the 25-man roster. Saito is 1-2 with a 2.92 ERA this season, while the 22-year old Kimbrel is 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA with Atlanta this season, and has been sensational when pitching for the Gwinnett Braves, posting a 1-0 record, a 1.23 ERA, a 0.82 WHIP, eight saves, and 35 strikeouts in 22 innings pitched, while holding opponents to a .135 batting average.
