Dickey Goes To 4-0
The Mets began the road trip the right way, with a 5-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles. R.A. Dickey pitched seven innings and struck out a career-high eight in picking up his fourth consecutive win. Dickey (4-0) was supposed to pitch yesterday, but with the rain out Jerry Manuel held him back to open the series in Baltimore. His thinking was that a knuckleballer plays havoc with batters timing and instead of wasting him at the end of series, have him start a series and (hopefully) make it difficult tomorrow. Lets see if his strategy works. It sure worked tonight. Since being promoted, Dickey hasn’t lost and gone at least six innings in all five of his starts and looks like an excellent addition to the rotation. He walked one batter and...
