Marlins Hurt Rays in Opener

Welcome back Chris Coghlan. We’ve missed you. Coghlan put together his best game in 2010 with a 4-4 effort, 4 runs scored, and an RBI to lead the Marlins over the Tampa Bay Rays 14-9. It started off rough for James Shields and didn’t get better. He gave up an early run on a Hanley Ramirez sac fly to put Tampa in an early hole it couldn’t climb out of. Shields really didn’t have it tonight and it showed. In the third, he allowed back to back walks to Ronnie Paulino and Coghlan, a bunt single to Gaby Sanchez (who hit 2 homers and 6 RBIs in his best offensive outing of the year) to load the bases. Shields almost worked himself out by striking out Hanley and RBI machine Jorge Cantu, but then it fell apart as he once again...
