Twins Edge Braves 2-1
Atlanta’s Tim Hudson and Minnesota’s Francisco Liriano engaged in an old-fashioned pitchers duel, but Liriano prevailed in the end as the Twins edged the Braves 2-1 on Friday night at Target Field in Minneapolis. Hudson, Atlanta’s ace, pitched eight strong innings, including six shutout innings to open the game, and allowed just seven hits and two runs in his eight innings, but Liriano was even better, tossing eight innings of five-hit, one run ball at the Braves in a matchup of two of MLB’s current division-leading teams.
