Mets Bullpen Fails
(No Rants)The New York Mets dropped their third game in four with a 2-1 loss at the hands of the Washington Senators. A bases-loaded sac fly off the bat of Ryan Zimmerman drove home Willie Harris in the bottom of the 9th. It was the second walk off loss for the Mets in the past three games and sixth such loss of the season. After struggling for most of June Santana looked sharp, allowing just one run in seven innings. The seven strike outs were the most for Santana since mid-April. The Mets bad habit of not supporting Johan Santana continues. Although the one run is more than they scored for him in his past two starts combined, the Mets were held to just one run.
