Injured Los Angeles Clippers Star Kawhi Leonard Pulls Out of Olympics

Team USA’s line-up for the forthcoming Paris Olympics has experienced a massive shift as Kawhi Leonard, forward for LA Clippers, will not be able to make it. In his place, Derrick White from Boston Celtics was given an invite into the national team.

Leonard’s absence from the competitions has been agreed upon by the Clippers and Team USA management. Leonard suffered a right knee inflammation causing him to miss many games towards the end of Clippers’ season.

Derrick White who is recently rewarded with a four-year contract extension worth $126 million brings his experience from playing at Team USA 2019 World Cup. His contribution this past season to NBA champions Celtics was noteworthy as he averaged 15.2 points while assisting in 5.2 goals per game.
