N.C. State Stays On The Bubble With Win
North Carolina State is one of the more intriguing teams in the ACC Tournament this year because they are one of the teams on the proverbial bubble to get into the tournament. Their 78-57 win against Boston College Thursday afternoon definitely helped their case.
Scott Wood’s 22 points helped spark the Wolfpack. Wood hit five three-pointers in the game which easily contributed to the win.
N.C. State’s defense was also helpful in stopping a few Boston College runs and starting some runs of their own. N.C. State started the game with a 14-0 lead on their way to their 21st victory of the season.
On the other side, Boston College finishes with the most losses in school history. The Eagles finish 9-22 eclipsing their worst mark by one loss after finishing the 1988-89 season with a 6-21 record.
North Carolina State’s judgement is coming. They will need to win their next game to prove that they are tournament-worthy this season. A win against Texas early in their season is the only win they could make a case for being good. They blew it against Duke on the road Feb. 16 and have not beaten any of the ranked opponents they faced.
