Boston-Native Wayne Selden (’13) Trims List to Six
Back in early June, Wayne Selden made the decision to reclassify from 2014 to the class of 2013.
Now, a senior-to-be at the Tilton School (NH), Selden cut his list to six on Saturday, leaving his recruitment open to the following schools: Ohio State, Florida, UCLA, Missouri, Kansas, and Syracuse.
Selden’s list comes in no particular order for the Boston, Massachusetts native, and next year at this time will be set to begin his collegiate career at one of his six remaining finalists.
The 6-foot-5 guard hails from Roxbury, Massachusetts, a section of Boston that Selden still calls home despite most of his time being spent at Tilton.
The New Hampshire-based prep school has seen a number of talented players head to the collegiate level, most recently Nerlens Noel (Kentucky) and Georges Niang (Iowa State), each of whom are set to be freshmen this season.
Selden leads the next wave of Tilton success that will eventually move onto the collegiate level, and his size, strength and overall skill set are a high indication of why he is so highly sought by many.
Yet, things are becoming clearer now for Selden, as his lengthy list of schools is now down to just six.
ESPN ranks Selden at No. 13 in the country among his 2013 teammates, while Rivals pins him at No. 21.
When on the court, the wing guard is always in attack mode, earning trips to the foul line and going right after some of the tougher defenders and shot blockers on the opposition.
Selden has spent his summer months and AAU seasons running with the Boston-based program, BABC, a group that has had tremendous national success in its tenure.
