Chipper Jones Returns to Atlanta Braves’ Lineup
Chipper Jones returned to the Atlanta Braves’ lineup on Sunday afternoon. He missed the first two games of the series against the Milwaukee Brewers due to fluid buildup on his knee. He started the final two games of the series against the Houston Astros and led the Braves to their first two wins of the year. The Braves enjoyed having his bat back in the lineup today.
He broke a 1-1 tie and gave the Braves a lead they never would relinquish with a three-run homerun in the 3rd inning. You can see his blast here.
The Braves carried the momentum that he provided in Houston to win the first two games without him. His presence in the lineup makes the offense more dangerous.
It doesn’t make me feel confident that he was only able to play two games before needing two games off. He is only a little more than two weeks removed from his knee surgery, however.

Li’l known fact: my sons name is Stan Wayne, after the alltime great Auburn QB and the Brave’s iconic third sacker. Dont retire chipper!
Stan White, “all-time great” quarterback? Wow. Do you mean college football writ large, or just among Aubie QBs?
