#7 Michigan State Dominates Iowa
Tonight was the Big 10 opener for the Spartans and they proved they deserved their #7 ranking with a 95-61 win over Iowa.
Michigan State came out fast against the Hawkeyes with the home crowd behind their back. The Spartans, as of late, have been returning to their fast paced transition game that always keeps their opponents on their heels. Iowa never could gained any momentum and found themselves in a quick hole. Michigan State forced 21 turnovers and this allowed them to run their fast break.
Draymond Green led the Spartans with 22 points and 9 rebounds, including this alley-oop from Brandon Kearny.

Despite dominating the scoreboard, the Spartans did not dominate their typical category, the rebounding game, they only had a 34-30 advantage. This was mainly due to Michigan State’s smaller guards getting beat by Iowa’s larger guards. Look for this to be a possible issue going foward.
Iowa showed a great deal of athleticism, especially from their guards, but lack the firepower to compete with the Big 10 elites.
