Child Rape Case Judge Volunteered For Sandusky’s Charity
Judge Leslie Dutchcot volunteered with and made donations to the youth outreach group, The Second Mile. The foundation was Mike Sandusky’s main source for targeting his young victims.
Dutchcot not only volunteered for Sandusky’s charity, she donated between $500 and $1,000 to support the groups work with Pennsylvania’s youth.
At the time of reporting, mention of the association had been removed from Dutchcot’s profile entirely. This scandal just keeps getting more bizarre by the minute. The Judge told nobody on either side about her affiliation with the charity; the defense or prosecution.
Dutchcot should have recused herself from the trial due to her close ties to Second Mile, inside a major small-town dynamic. This entire situation is shaping up like a movie, with strange twists and turns at every corner.
Under the Judicial Conduct Board of Pennsylvania, it states the following under certain conditions:
“Judges may participate in civic and charitable activities that do not reflect adversely upon their impartiality or interfere with the performance of their judicial duties. Judges may serve as an officer, director, trustee, or non legal advisor of an educational, religious, charitable, fraternal, or civic organization not conducted for the economic or political advantage of its members, subject to the following limitations… Judges should not serve if it is likely that the organization will be engaged in proceedings that would ordinarily come before them or will be regularly engaged in adversary proceedings in any court.”
Judge Leslie Dutchcot has yet to comment on her decision to rule over Sandusky’s case despite the affiliation with his charity.
