Report: Big East to Add 5 Teams for 2013
It looks like the Big East has made their move to regain some of the teams that they have lost. CBS Sports is reporting that Boise State, San Diego State, SMU, Houston and UCF will be added to the league on Wednesday. All 5 of these teams will begin Big East competition in 2013.
This really shows what realignment has done to college football. The only team close to the East Coast out of these 5 is UCF. San Diego State will have to travel across the country for any road game, which can be killer on a program.
I would imagine that this means the Big East will allow West Virginia, Syracuse and Pittsburgh to leave without hesitation now. This will also give Boise State a chance to play in a power conference and prove once and for all that they deserve a shot at the national title.
We will keep you updated on this story as it develops.
