Here we go, another week of Rant’s Fantasy Football Helper! Let’s start per usual, waiver wire pick-ups (where if I may point out had some golden picks last week).
Week 3 Waiver Wire Pickups
QB Pick of the Week
Kevin Kolb- Kolb has a nice match-up and should be able to record a solid game if you need a quick replacement.
RB Pick of the Week
Thomas Jones- After the unlucky injury that is going to keep Jamaal Charles out for the year, Jones is going to be taking over the workload for KC. He might even be worth picking up for a long term solution.
WR Pick of the Week
Nate Burleson- There isn’t too much to work this week here, but Burleson has a nice match-up and with the high flying Lions offence with Matthew Stafford in control, Burleson should put up some decent numbers.
TE Pick of the Week
Scott Chandler- You do not want this guy as a long term option, but he is a red zone threat, and the Patriots pass defense certainly has some holes that Chandler could exploit.
Benchwarmers
QB
Eli Manning- This is not a good match-up, and Eli will get rocked this week. Stay away.
Jay Cutler- Cutler is usually awful against Green Bay, and don’t expect that to magically change.
RB
Reggie Bush- It seems like Bush’s days as the starting RB for the Dolphins are coming to an end, and Daniel Thomas is now the man. Pick up Thomas if you can, and bench Bush.
Ryan Grant- He’s pretty much fallen off the map now, so be sure to bench him until he gets a better share with James Starks.
WR
Eric Decker- Sure, he’s been solid. But with Brandon Lloyd returning to full health, Decker should become somewhat irrelevant again.
Jordy Nelson- Frankly, he’s been more lucky than skilled. I wouldn’t trust him.
TE
Dallas Clark- Clark is usually a must start option, but this is not a good match-up for him. I would think twice.
Play Em’
QB
Matt Ryan- The Bucs pass defense isn’t exactly rock solid, and Ryan should have a nice game.
Joe Flacco- Yeah, I know, last week I said to start him and he didn’t do well. But, the Titans defense stepped up. Don’t expect the same from the Rams defense.
RB
Ben Tate- Arian Foster is still injured, meaning Tate is still going to get the majority of the carries. Start him until Foster is healthy.
Ryan Matthews- Matthews should have a huge game. Mike Tolbert should have a good game as well, but expect some big numbers from Matthews against the awful KC defense.
TE
Fred Davis- Soon enough, Davis is going to be a top fantasy TE. Don’t hesitate. Start him.
That’s it for this week! If you have any questions, need some fantasy advice, or want something to be added, feel free to send me a tweet on twitter @Thesachman or by email
