The Boston Bruins have acquired Greg Zanon from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for the Providence Bruins’ Steven Kampfer, according to NESN.
Zanon is a defenseman who has played in the NHL since 2005, first with Nashville and then with Minnesota. He played every single game last season with the Wild and registered seven assists. This season, he’s played 39 games and scored two goals and four assists. He’s also an ace at blocking shots, averaging 2.5 blocked shots per game and 104 in his 39 games this season. This could be a good thing for the Bruins as they shore up their blueline.
