Boston Celtics Brandon Bass Is Having Career Year With Rondo’s Help
The Boston Celtics are on a roll right now. The offense is clicking as the ball movement has been tremendous thanks in large part to the play of super star point guard Rajon Rondo. Rondo with his 15 assists extended his streak of double digit assists games to an amazing seventeen straight games. His teammates are benefiting from Rondo breaking down a defense and finding the open man for the best look. One guy that is truly having a career year thanks in large part to Rondo is one Brandon Bass.
Bass is just reaping the benefits of playing with a guy that can get him the ball with a clean look. Rondo will normally penetrate and get to the paint where the defense will collapse. This is when Rondo will normally find the wide open Bass for one of his sweet 10 to 15 foot jump shot. If Bass rotates off the ball well or runs ahead of the defense, Rondo will reward him with a sweet pass for an easy two.
The stat sheet does not lie. Bass came into the year with a career average of about 8 points per game. This season with Rondo has Bass upping his average to 12 points per game. These a stats are even more impressive knowing that he is getting these points playing most of the year sharing the ball with the “Big Three”.
The bottom line is a lot of people feel Rondo needs the “Big Three” to be effective. The fact is Rondo is the guy that can make people like Bass better. No matter who is along side him, Rondo will make them a better player at the offensive end. This means the winning is not over once the “Big Three” hang it up as long as Rondo dons green. Remember Go Green Or Go Home!!!!!!!!
