The Bobby Valentine era is off to a rocky start to say the least thus far in the 2012 season, but no one can say that the Boston Red Sox have not made it interesting.

With the Red Sox hitting “rock bottom” in Valentine’s words over the weekend it was good for the team to bounce back with an 11-2 dominating win Tuesday night against the Minnesota Twins.

The Red Sox pulled off the rare feat for the team this season by pitching and hitting effecting for the whole the majority of a game. The team was riding high after the comeback win against the Twins on Monday night.

Mike Aviles led the way for the Sox with four hits and David Ortiz chipped in as well with a monster home run to power Boston to 11 runs.

Big Papi continued his torrid start to the season by adding his third home run of the season while knocking in three runs to bring his season total to 15. Ortiz is also batting .444 for the season thus far. So much for the demise talks about Ortiz.

Josh Beckett ran into some early trouble in the first inning, but rebounded nicely to put together his third straight solid start. The team also had nice contributions from Adrian Gonzalez and Ryan Sweeney.

If the team scores this many runs and pitches as well as it did on Tuesday there may not be any need to worry about the bullpen problems. Truth be told, this was a small step in the right direction for Boston.

Let’s see if Clay Buchholz can turn his season around in Wednesday’s game and help continue the team’s streak.
