Report: Yoenis Cespedes To Sign With The Oakland A’s
With all the hype surrounding Yoenis Cespedes signing with the Miami Marlins, it appears that the Oakland A’s have jumped into the fray and will sign the Cuban superstar for 4 years 32 million dollars
ESPN has reported this story, and believe this is a very good deal for the Oakland A’s, as they get a young, controllable outfielder that could turn into a superstar for the cheap. There is a little risk involved as Cespedes is still completely raw and will take some time to adjust to big league pitching.
On the other hand, I’m not sure of the direction Billy Beane is taking. I don’t really understand trading away your rotation in a rebuilding project, just to spend 32 million on a question mark with tools. If we recall, Michael Inoa was signed for 5 million dollars and as of right now, that hasn’t worked out.
Either way, color me shocked when I read the news as I figured the Chicago Cubs were the favorites if the Marlins didn’t snag him. I guess Billy Beane is good for something other than money ball.
