Philadelphia Phillies ace pitcher Roy “Doc” Halladay is one of the more soft-spoken pitchers in the majors.
Doc’s numbers and pile of awards say plenty on their own.
This doesn’t mean that Halladay lacks all personality, however.
Doc arrived to the first day of Philadelphia’s training camp in Clearwater, Florida yesterday in the souped-up hot rod you see above. People have made an effort to pin down the make and model of the hot rod, but it looks like it’s a Doc Classic of his own imagination.
Halladay’s passion for restoring old cars is well-documented and it looks like he spent both time and thought on this one.
As many have said, the smile you see on Doc’s face in this picture will be his last until the end of the season.
As pitchers and catchers arrive in Clearwater, it’s time for business.
