Washington Nationals Outfielder Jayson Werth Says Phillies Fans Were Heckling Him After He Broke His Wrist

Well, there are some sick stories out there, and this needs to be added. The Philadelphia Phillies faithful are at it again. According to Washington Nationals outfielder, and former phillies stud, Jayson Werth, the phillie fanatics were heckling him after he broke his wrist attempting to make a diving catch on Sunday night.

“After walking off the field feeling nauseous knowing my wrist was broke and hearing Philly fans yelling ‘You deserve it,’ and, ‘That’s what you get,’ I am motivated to get back quickly and see to it personally those people never walk down Broad Street in celebration again,” Werth wrote.

I can’t say I fully blame phillie fans, since Werth did say he hates the Phillies. However, it sounds as though this may have been a bad decision, not only morally, but also for their ball club. All the fans seems to have done is awoken the beast. Lets not forget that Werth was a stud for the phillies from 2008-2010.

His best season was one to remember came in 2009 when he hit .268 with 36 bombs and 99 rbi. That season he also stole 20 bags, scored 98 runs and walked nearly 100 times (91 to be specific).

So if the phillie faithful have awoken the beast, then they will regret it. He signed an enormous $126 million, seven-year contract with Washington in 2011 and has yet to regain that same form from his phillie days. This could be just what he needed to get back to his best playing days. If he does get back, then the Nationals will be even more dangerous then they are right now. With a youthful core of two of the best prospects in baseball, Stephen Strasburg and Bryce Harper, the Nats look ready to make a big splash during this years, and years to come, playoffs.

Look out for Washington this year!
