NBA Rumors: Dallas Mavericks Fear Deron Williams Sticking With Brooklyn Nets
More NBA rumors about Deron Williams are heating up especially as we head into the all important free agency period that everyone is most certainly eager for.
The team that could be targeting Williams the most is in his hometown. The Dallas Mavericks are going to lay it all on the line for Williams to come home, to join Mark Cuban’s boys led by Dirk Nowitzki and to replace the aging star that was Jason Kidd. However, the Mavericks have a sick feeling in their stomach when thinking about where Williams will go. The Mavericks are fearing that Williams will sign with the Brooklyn Nets.
The answer as to where Williams will play will be coming soon as July 1 starts free agency. With no sign-and-trade deal in place to any team, Williams is expected to choose wherever he wants to play. If Williams does indeed sign with the Nets, he will be closer to home with his brother Kendall Jones who will be playing at a New Jersey prep school, starting next year.
It looks like Williams will have somethings to decide. Does he want a lot of money? Does he want to be closer to his family? Or does he want to continue the growing relationship with his brother in New Jersey?
The Nets would love to have him back. They are without a first round pick after acquiring forward Gerald Wallace during the trade deadline from the Portland Trail Blazers for a first round pick and if Williams stays, the Nets will more than likely be able to bring back Wallace as well. All could be good as the Nets head to Brooklyn next season.
