Buffalo Bills Signing Mark Anderson is Huge Move
Earlier this week the Buffalo Bills announced that they had signed former New England Patriots defensive end Mark Anderson. This was a huge signing for the team for a variety of reasons.
With the move they are not only able to make their own defense and defensive line stronger, but they are able to weaken one of their biggest rivals in the Patriots.
The sixth year defensive end from Alabama is coming off a career year with New England, with 10 sacks and 29 tackles as a situational pass-rusher. The 10 sacks is the second most he has had in any season outside of his rookie year with the Chicago Bears, when he had 12.
One of the biggest positives in the signing for the Bills is that they are able to weaken a Pats defense that already was one of the worst in the league last season.
As for improving their own defense, this signing, on top of the Mario Williams move, give the Bills two new players who have had multiple double-digit sack seasons, to add to a unit that didn’t have one player with more than 5.5 sacks all last season.
Signing two marquee defensive free-agents were great moves for this team who is looking to end a 12 year playoff drought. With the way the team played last season offensively at the start of the season, bringing in defensive help like they have could really put it all over the top.
