Joe Wiz Tipsheet: College Football Week 12

Tennessee at Georgia

Joe Wiz tipsheet college football picks for Week 12
It’s a must-win game for the 12th-ranked Bulldogs as they welcome No. 7 Tennessee to Athens on Saturday night. Despite its loss to Ole Miss last week, Georgia is a 10.5-point home favorite against the Volunteers with the O/U marked at 47.5 points for this SEC showdown. The Bulldogs have struggled ATS since last season. They’re 2-7 ATS this fall and are 8–15 going back to the start of the 2023 season. Tennessee is the No. 7 ranked team in the country for a reason.

Dylan Sampson is a stud at running back and the Volunteers hold the fifth-best defense in college football, not allowing 20 points yet this season. Tennessee is also battle-tested with a win on the road in Norman early this season. Georgia’s Carson Beck is tied for the most interceptions (12) in all of college football. It’s too hard to ignore getting double digits here with the Volunteers.

Virginia at Notre Dame

No. 8 Notre Dame is looking to stay hot against Virginia, entering this matchup as 22.5-point home favorites with the O/U set at 50.5 points. The Fighting Irish have rolled to seven straight wins, outscoring their opponents, 308-71, during that stretch. Virginia, on the other hand, is coming off a huge road win against Pittsburgh after losing three straight games. Notre Dame has been dominant since losing at home to Northern Illinois back in September. The Fighting Irish could be looking past a Virginia team that is ranked 98th in total defense with their showdown next week against unbeaten Army at Yankee Stadium. We don’t see the Cavaliers putting up much of a resistance against the Fighting Irish, but still not interested in laying all this wood.

Wake Forest at North Carolina

North Carolina welcomes Wake Forest to Raleigh, where the Tar Heels enter as an 11-point favorite with the O/U for this ACC matchup set at 63.5 points. After a slow start to the season, North Carolina enters the game off back-to-back road wins against Virginia and Florida State. Wake Forest is hoping to bounce back from a home loss to California after winning two straight road contests. The last three meetings between these two ACC rivals have been decided by six points or less, and each of those games combined for 70 points or more. The Demon Deacons have allowed over 30 points in eight of their last 10 contests and play a North Carolina squad that has scored 34 or more points the past three weeks.

The Tar Heels may have turned the corner, but we have no interest in laying heavy lumber with a team that’s just 2-6-1 ATS. We expected this game to be a close one just like the past three contests. Take the 11 points with the Demon Deacons.

South Alabama +7.5 over Louisiana-Lafayette

Baylor at West Virginia

Baylor takes a three-game winning streak into Morgantown to face off against West Virginia as a 2.5-point road favorite with the O/U set for 58.5 points. Offense doesn’t sleep when the Bears and Mountaineers match up. The last three games have gone over the total and surpassed the 58.5-point mark for this contest. Baylor has been cooking on offense as of late, averaging over 44 ppg during its winning streak, and has seen the over hit in its last six contests. West Virginia has put up 31 points in its last two games to get back-to-back wins and has gone over the total in the last three games. This one should be a barn burner. Play the Over.

Utah State +3 over Hawaii

NFL Week 11

Baltimore at Pittsburgh

The top spot in the AFC North is up for grabs this Sunday as Baltimore enters Pittsburgh as a three-point road favorite with the O/U for this divisional contest set for 48.5 points. Baltimore has been on a tear since its slow start to the season, winning seven of its last eight and averaging over 34 ppg in that span. We hit big with the Steelers last week with their upset over Washington. But Baltimore will be an even bigger test for Russell Wilson and Pittsburgh. The Ravens have hit the over in 9 of 10 this season, but the last seven meetings against Pittsburgh have gone under.

Lamar Jackson, however, has only played in one of the last five meetings between the two rivals. We know the Ravens lead the NFL in scoring (31.8 ppg) but Pittsburgh does appear to have the defense to keep this a low-scoring game to give the Steelers a chance for the upset. History says go Under the total.

Kansas City at Buffalo

Will this be the end of Kansas City’s undefeated streak? The Chiefs are 2.5-point road dogs against the Bills on Sunday with the O/U for this matchup set for 46 points. Kansas City was a 2.5-point dog the last time they went to Orchard Park during the AFC Divisional round and came out with a 27-24 win over Buffalo. However, the Chiefs did need a blocked field goal at home to get past Denver last week. Buffalo is rolling on a five-game win streak and will be out for revenge. It will also be interesting to see how Andy Reid goes about the kicking game. Harrison Butker was placed on injured reserve having a meniscus trim procedure done to his left knee. Cincinnati at LA Chargers

The Bengals and Chargers were flexed into prime time as Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert look to duke it out at SoFi Stadium. LA is a small 1.5-point home favorite against the Bengals with the O/U set for 47.5 points.

Even though the Bengals are 4-6, they’re still a threat with Burrow and an offense that has scored a combined 75 points the last two weeks. The Chargers are 6-3 but have not beaten a team with a winning record this season. They’re, however, 3-1 at home this season. The books are giving the Bengals a realistic shot to win after battling down to the wire last week against the Ravens. The best play would be getting the line up to +3 with Cincinnati and leaning with a rested up Bengals in another must-win situation.

Houston at Dallas

It’s time for a Monday Night showdown in the Lone Star State as the Texans head to “Jerry World” to take on the Cowboys. The Texans are 7.5-point road favorites against Dallas with the O/U for this one set at 42 points. Houston came oh so close to pulling off the upset last week against the Lions, but we still cashed out as a winner by taking the Texans at +4 as a home dog.

Speaking of home dogs, Dallas’ season is over now that Dak Prescott is done for the season, and we’ll be surprised to see Mike McCarthy on the sidelines much longer. With all that being said, the Texans have gone under the total seven times this season and in three of their last four games. Houston has also lost three out of its last four road games. Dallas was only able to muster up six points with Cooper Rush under center against the Eagles and have lost four in a row. Lean towards the under and hit us up through call/text at 201-906-3853 for the Winner.

Joe Wiz tipsheet: College Basketball

Pepperdine at UC Irvine

UC Irvine tries to keep its perfect start to the season rolling when they host Pepperdine on Saturday night. Pepperdine gave up 94 points in a loss to UC San Diego in its last game. They won their season opener against Western Illinois. UC Irvine has won its last two contests at home against Pepperdine. They also rolled to a 76-60 victory over the Waves when they played last year in Irvine. We lean with the home team. Go Anteaters!

New Mexico at St. John’s

It’s a rare doubleheader at the Garden on Sunday. The first matchup sees the Pitino father-and-son coaching battle of New Mexico and St. John’s. The Red Storm are ranked in the Top 25 for the first time since January of 2019. But they struggled on Wednesday night against Wagner, not covering the hefty 27-point spread in a 66-45 victory. While the Lobos might be rebuilding, they’re 3-0 and did beat UCLA last week. New Mexico likes to play an uptempo game. We think St. John’s will be able to run with them. Lean towards the Over for now.

Joe Wiz tipsheet: UFC 309

It’s the heavyweight fight we’ve all been waiting for! Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic will finally face off in the main event on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden. We think this bout will go over 2.5 rounds (+116). We see Jones finishing Miocic off in the third round (+650).

The co-main event for UFC 309 sees Michael Chandler trying to get payback against Charles Oliveira in a lightweight bout. Oliveira knocked out Chandler back in 2021 during their unbelievable back-and-forth first fight that went into the second round. This a big fight for Chandler, who has lost three of his last four fights and could lose out on having a potential money fight down the line against Conor McGregor. Because of what is a stake, it’s worth taking a look at taking Chandler (+215). Going over 2.5 rounds (+190) is another play to look at as well.

Genius’ UEFA Nations League Games of the Week

Andorra (+350) vs. Moldova (+100), (draw +190), Saturday, 12 p.m. EDT

Each group in the Nations League is pretty tough. The competition is meant to pit teams of equal stature against each other in the hopes that they all get better. Saturday, Moldova has a chance to put itself in position to win the group. But needs a convincing victory over Andorra. Moldova won 2-0 when the two clubs played on Oct. 10, and that could be the scoreline again. Take Moldova (+100) on the ML.

Turkey (-140) vs. Wales (+370), (draw +270), Saturday, 12 p.m. EDT

Turkey sits with 10 points, while Wales has 8 points, and a winner here probably wins the group and moves up to League A for the next edition. When the two teams played back in September, it was 0-0, which would suit Turkey just fine. I expect a cagey affair with neither team wanting to open up too much. Go under 2.5 goals at -115.

Joe Wiz Tipsheet: NHL

New York Rangers at Seattle Kraken

The Rangers begin a four-game road trip in Seattle on Sunday against the Kraken. The last three games on the road trip against Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton. This should be the easiest of the four games for the Blueshirts. Nothing is for sure, so play it safe and go Over the total. The Rangers are averaging over 4 ppg on the road this season.

Joe Wiz tipsheet: NBA

Dallas Mavericks at Oklahoma City Thunder

The Thunder and the Mavericks face off for the first time since playing in the Western Conference semifinals on Sunday night. OKC won its first two games since losing young star Chert Holmgren for at least the next few months. This will be the sixth straight home game for the Thunder. Dallas is in the midst of a tough stretch and will be playing in the second end of a back-to-back. We lean towards the Under here with Dallas playing a back-to-back.
