1. Nice to see the Bears lock up Earl Bennett to a long-term deal. He kept his mouth shut and something was worked out. I hope Matt Forte is paying attention.

2. I have a good friend that has written off the Bears. I’m guessing he’s not alone. While the Jay Cutler injury was bad, this is still a good football team. If they lose tomorrow, then we should all panic.

3. In a not-so-shocking move, no one claimed Donovan McNabb off of waivers. The Bears were pretty upfront about their positive feelings on the guys they’ve got, so there was no reason to rock the boat for a guy that’s a long-shot as it stands.

4. Is Minnesota the place where quarterbacks go to die?

5. The Detroit Lions jerkoff Ndamukong Suh’s BS suspension of only two games was upheld by the league. What’s the under/over on his next move. It’s really ashame this guy can’t get his act together. He’s a talented football player and a sharp guy. He really should seek professional help.

6. Peyton Manning indicated that he’s beginning his rehab and may want to play in a game this season. He’s one of my favorite non-Bears and certainly one of the classiest guys in the game. That being said, is it worth it for him to play for that horrible team? I get the fact it’s killing him to not play, but he’s got nothing to prove. And to risk further injury with the NFL’s worst team just doesn’t make any sense. Maybe he wants to see them win a game, but there’s a bigger picture of his future health.

7. The Dream Team Philadelphia Eagles are essentially eliminated from the post-season. I’m a guy that believes character wins. The Eagles have little character. There’s way too many thugs and malcontents on that roster, and it may be that Andy Reid will take the fall at the end of the season. It’s too bad because he’s a good coach, but that team just isn’t out together well. There’s individual talent, but little chemistry. Michael Vick isn’t a winner, and while he’s said and done all the right things, he’s just too fragile. It’s hard to have a franchise quarterback that can’t be counted upon to play 16 games.

8. I’m looking forward to seeing Tim Tebow and his Denver Broncos play the Bears. While we hear what he can’t do, the kid wins. I think the Bears defense will contain his running, but it’s a great story.

9. Who will end up in Los Angeles? I think the two obvious choices are the Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars. Some have even suggested the St. Louis Rams might be in the mix. Just for the hell of it, I’ll throw the Oakland Raiders in as well. The Rams and Raiders called LA home at one time, and both may be looking at a new stadium as a reason to head back. It’s still amazing that Green Bay and Jacksonville have NFL teams, but LA doesn’t. And the NFL is the most popular sport in the US. Goes to show the power of television and gambling.

10. Nice to see Julius Peppers receive the NFC Defensive Player of the Month. He’s been a beast.

  1. John Orr says:

The Bears have thrown in the towel and once again are headed home with the tails tucked between their legs. How could any team go with one throw away QB and not have a half way decent backup. Cutler is worthless and the Bears need to fire Smith and then go for a quality QB & backup. Another maybe next year and I have had it with them.
