Rumors of Brett Favre heated up all over the Internet yesterday; and the Chicago Bears of course claimed they were happy with their quarterbacks (Rex is our quarterback). But in reality, they cannot be fooling themselves if they think this team has any chance with Caleb Hanie. To muster up three points against the Kansas City Chiefs at home is beyond pitiful. There’s no excuse for what us fans witnessed on Sunday. Even without Jay Cutler and Matt Forte for most of the game, this team should be better. Other teams managed to win with backup quarterbacks, so why weren’t the Chicago Bears able to do the same? For effing sake, Hanie has been here for four years. Do you mean to tell me that the Bears didn’t realize that this guy couldn’t lead the ocean to water?
This week, the Chicago Bears face the Tim Tebow Show in Denver. The Broncos are hot and seem to invent ways to win. The Bears aren’t and are inventing ways to lose. What should have been two wins for the Bears seem to be anything but victories. The Broncos should be favored at home, and with the way the Bears are playing, this should be a loss as well.
I am getting fed up with people blaming the Hail Mary for the loss on Sunday. The defense didn’t play well; it gave up way too many big plays and really wasn’t a factor against a pitiful offense. With the exception of Julius Peppers, did any other defenders have a good game? I was there and I will tell you that the Bears were never very interested in this game.
Despite the piss poor effort from Sunday, the Bears are in the same position for the playoffs they were last week. Nothing has changed in the standings. That doesn’t mean I feel good, it just means they’re still the best of the worst of the playoff teams. Unless things change drastically, I am afraid that even if the Bears squeak into the playoffs, it will be a very short and painful trip. Even with Cutler and Forte supposedly being back, who even knows what they can contribute to this team.
Well that’s all for now. I really don’t have anything positive to say. I figure that many of you probably don’t need me to make you feel worse. But if you need your dose of me, follow me on Twitter at ChicagoBearJew.

Of course there is still hope for the Bears. Chicago’s defense is still very productive, but they better get the taste of the last two games out of their mouths real quick. Look for the defense to start creating lots of turnovers which they are known for.
