Wow. What an offseason for the Cleveland Browns. The Mighty Quinn and Derek Anderson are shipped off and in comes Seattle career back up Seneca Wallace and Carolina turnover magnet, Jake Delhomme.
Browns fans must find solace as Mike “The Walrus” Holmgren is now the GM. There have been some smart moves made by the Browns this offseason. LB Scott Fujita from the Super Bowl winning Saints was signed, and can do nothing but help the leadership in the clubhouse.
Re-signing Josh Cribbs was a huge deal. He’s an explosive special teams player. With the addition of Peyton Hillis coming over for the Mighty Quinn trade, the free agent signing of TE Ben Watson, the Browns might very well be on the cusp of breaking .500 this next year, but we must see what happens in the draft.
One thing the Browns can’t do next year, is run Jerome Harrison as they did down the stretch in their final 4 games this year. Harrison was the only serviceable back in the final three games this last season.

Harrison was a fantastic fantasy football waiver wire pick up after his week 14 performance of 286 yards and 3 scores. But, can Harrison be an every down back? He carried the ball 106 times for 561 yards and 5 scores in the Browns final 3 games. That total doesn’t extrapolate well. Over the course of 16 games, the 5’9″ Washington State product would be asked to carry the ball over 500 times in the course of a season. The single season touch record is by Tampa Bay Buccaneer, James Wilder, and his 492 touches included his pass catches.
Browns fans, just like Buccaneer fans, have serious concerns surrounding their teams as the draft approaches. Make sure Browns fans, to keep it clicked on brownscentral.com as the draft approaches for the latest news.
