Crazy Football Dad Attacks Helpless Coach With Ax

Crazy Football Dad Attacks Helpless Coach With Ax

On occasion I have found myself getting annoyed with my kids athletic coaches but I’ve never felt the urge to attack one, let alone attack one with a deadly weapon. Such was the case with a father of a Monterrey High School football player.

An article posted on KTLA.com claims the over zealous dad became enraged at his sons coach and allegedly beat him senseless with the butt end of an ax.

According to the police report, Raynald Adams verbally threatened the unidentified junior varsity coach before pummeling the defenseless coach on the football field.

Apparently Adams was able to strike the coach several times with the end of the ax before school employees were able to subdue him until police arrived.

The coach is lucky to be alive.

The ax wielding dad was arrested on a multitude of counts including assault with a deadly weapon, battery on a school official, possession of a dangerous weapon, being on school grounds without registering a weapon and possession a weapon on school grounds.

I have no idea what set this guy off but come on, nobody brings an ax to a football field unless they intend to use it for something sinister. The coach was lucky he wasn’t hurt worse or killed.

These types of incidents are all too common. When did kids sports become less about the kids and more about the parents? Sports are supposed to be fun not an excuse to lose self control. I’m just saying.
