Whether it’s the NFL, college, or high school, there have been plenty of impressive kick returns for touchdowns over the years that are worthy enough to watch over and over again on the highlight reel. As for one high school senior in Florida, he provided football fans with an impressive return last weekend that has caught the attention of plenty of football fans across the internet–mainly because he drags two defenders into the end zone during the final 15 yards on the return.
Deonte Wilson of Mainland High School in Daytona Beach turned a play that appeared to be dead into an amazing 91-yard touchdown return during a game last weekend against Palm Bay. After recovering the kickoff at the nine-yard line, Wilson took advantage of some good blocking to break loose down the right sideline before cutting back to the middle of the field. Wilson looks like he’s about to be tackled at the 15 when two defenders approach him–but he somehow manages to drag the players into the end zone to secure the touchdown.
It’s one thing to return a kickoff for a touchdown–but to drag two players 15 yards in the process? That’s beyond impressive if you ask me.
