Video: Knicks Forward Carmelo Anthony Fails to Name Fifth Starter From Syracuse National Championship Team During Interview
New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony will always be considered one of the greatest college basketball players of all time after leading Syracuse to a National Championship as a freshman during the 2002-03 season. Jeff Eisenberg of Yahoo! Sports posted a video on Thursday that shows Anthony answering a question from one of his friends. The fan asked Anthony to name the starting lineup from Syracuse’s Championship team, but he could name three of the other four starters–with the odd man out being senior guard Kueth Duany.
Instead of Duany, Anthony thought Jeremy McNeil was the fifth starter for the Orangemen that season along with himself, Hakim Warrick, Craig Forth, and Gerry McNamara. While this isn’t that big of a deal considering how long ago the 2002-03 season was and Anthony actually named another member of the team, it’s still funny to see his answer after being put on the spot during the interview.
