Peyton Manning Retiring?

Reports have come through Twitter that Peyton Manning will not return to the Indianapolis Colts and is retiring. Unfortunately, it was Rob Lowe (yes, the actor) who broke this news so that is not a rock solid source. But Twitter is rocking with the news, it would not be surprising if Manning was retiring because of the three surgeries he’s had on his neck in the past year. The Colts are also in position to draft Andrew Luck who has already been donned the “Franchise Quarterback” for any team that drafts him.

Peyton Manning will go down as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time if he has indeed taken his last snap in the NFL. However, this story is still developing. It could just be a ruse and Rob Lowe’s best Charlie Sheen impersonation. It is yet to be seen as it also comes on a day in which some websites are supporting a blackout to protest SOPA legislation in congress that would limit free speech on the internet and give the government the ability to shut down any web site.

Is this the truth? Is Peyton Manning retiring? Rob Lowe has about as much credibility as, well, any actor. So if you want to believe the reports, go ahead, as for me I will wait until I see that teary-eyed Peyton Manning announcing it himself.
