Brad Marchand Was Too Drunk To Participate In Boston Bruins Stanley Cup DVD
They say hockey players would be the best athletes to party with. I’m pretty sure Brad Marchand of the Boston Bruins proved that. When the time came for members of the team to be interviewed for the Stanley Cup commemorative DVD, Marchand said he was too drunk to participate. It was 4 p.m.
“[After the Cup, linemate Tyler Seguin] and I went on a bit of a tear, partying pretty much every night for a while,” Marchand told Sports Illustrated. “I went home and kinda continued it. I thought [winning a championship] was something that might never happen, so I was trying to take it all in, enjoy it. … My dad sat me down and sorta gave me a lashing. He told me if we win two of the next three years, he’d leave me alone.”
I can understand where Marchand is coming from. Titles are never guaranteed, so you better celebrate them when you win them. It’s also a pretty hilarious story.
