“Miracle on Ice” Jersey Sells for $104,238 at Auction
Classic Auctions

The 32nd anniversary of the “Miracle on Ice” was this past Wednesday, a day that would live in sports history. A piece of that history was auctioned off yesterday and it went for a hefty sum.

Ken Morrow, a defenseman on the 1980 gold-winning American olympic team, auctioned off his jersey for $104,238 through the Quebec-based Classic Auctions company.

Pretty much all of the other “Miracle” memorabilia is still within the players possession or in the Hockey Hall of Fame. The only other piece of memorabilia sold from that game was a gold medal worn by Mark Wells that went for a record $310,000. Morrow’s jersey is the only jersey from that memorable game that has been put up for auction.

Now, instead of just hanging up in Morrow’s closet at his house, the jersey will hopefully be framed and hung up on the auction winner’s wall.

Thanks to Puck Daddy for the scoop.
