According to one of the leading celebrity gossip sources, TMZ, the wife of LA Kings winger, Dustin Penner, has filed for divorce. This comes just days after Penner safely made it through Monday’s trade deadline without being dealt by LA despite various rumors leading up to the deadline.
Penner and his wife, Jessica Welch, have barely been married a year since tying the knot on January 29, 2011 in her hometown of Montreal, Quebec. Welch is a French-Canadian actress. This is her second marriage and second divorce. Welch was previously married for five years (2005-2009) to another [former] NHL star, Richard Zednik, with whom she had a daughter (her only child as she and Penner have no children together).
TMZ is also reporting that Welch filed for divorce in L.A. County Superior Court citing “irreconcilable differences.”
