Report: There Is a Barry Switzer Movie in the Works
The legend of Barry Switzer’s reign as head coach of the Oklahoma Sooners is equal parts epic and nefarious, and SB Nation is reporting that it is set to be immortalized by Hollywood in the form of a movie.
The screenplay will allegedly be written by the makers of Friday Night Lights, and it will be based off of Switzer’s own memoirs, which means there won’t be much cause for dramatization. During Switzer’s days in Norman, there were national championships, federal drug busts, NCAA probation, and much, MUCH more.
The film will also apparently be produced by one of the producers of “The Blind Side.” Needless to say, this will be a must-see for anybody even remotely interested in college football, and even more of a prerequisite if you love criminal dramas.
