Joey Porter Compares Tim Tebow To Justin Bieber
Apparently Joey Porter has decided that life isn’t difficult enough. He has decided to aggravate both the fanbases of Justin Bieber and Tim Tebow in one quick quote.
Thanks to NBC Sports, we have a nice little transcript of the quote. In summary, Porter basically says that any team acquiring Tebow will be doing it for ticket sales instead of any actual football reasons.
Anybody who brings him in right now, you would think they’re trying to do it for ticket sales. So it’s just like, it’s good to have a Justin Bieber because you’re gonna get a whole lot of (fans). That’s what I compare it to. He’s the Justin Bieber of the NFL.”
“You gotta think that if I’m playing and you bring Tebow in. You’re not gonna think like, ‘What are we trying to do this year?’ I don’t think we can win right now with Tebow.”
Porter’s words may be true, but there are some teams that can use Tebow sans ticket sales. The Green Bay Packers could turn Tebow into a weapon in their growing Wildcat package. The New York Jets could light a spark under Mark Sanchez.
Tebowmania is still going to be a hot topic, wherever his new landing spot may be.
